Laundry detergent made of chestnuts.

Chestnuts cointain saponins, which find use in soaps in soaps and medicinals and make an ecological, fast and cheap alternative to industry laundry detergents.
Chestnuts trees are a ubiquitous in Vienna and carry excessive amounts of fruit during autumn. With proper storage, they will conserve a good year.

Cut the chestnuts in quarters and place a few of them in a glas of water. Let it sit for around and hour and use a sieve to remove any chestnut shell residue.
