Time and energy effective cooking.
I use an older Kelomat pressure cooker for a lot of things, but mostly legumes. Here are some notes on how to cook with it:
Soak legumes about 20 hours in water. It will remove a lot of the anti-nutrients like tensides and saponines. Then, pour the legumes into a strainer and wash them with cold water.
Add them to the pressure cooker with a piece of kelp or wakame. Close the pressure cooker and turn on the heat. Wait until the cooker starts hissing and turn down the heat to very low. Now the cooking time starts.
Cooking Times
Chickpeas: 8 minutes
Beans (Speckled/Pinto/Borlotti/Wachtel): 10 minutes
Lentils: 1-2 minutes
