Daily breakfast porridge.
The daily breakfast routine contains a bowl of porridge, a cup of coffee and a glass of water.
Keep the porridge base ingredients mixed in a large glass jar - refill about every two weeks.
Ordered by amount that is put in the jar.
- Rye flakes ~30%
- Buckwheat ~20%
- Gold Millet ~15%
- Sunflower Seeds ~10%
- Coarsley crushed walnuts ~10%
- Linseed ~5%
- Hemp Seeds ~5%
- (If available) Mixture of miscellaneous seeds: Chia, Psyllium, Sesame, etc. ~2%
- (If available) Dry fruit: Raisins, Apricots, Goji Berries, etc. ~5%
Pour one portion of porridge into a marmelade jar (about half the jar) and fill up the rest with water. Close the jar and let the contents soak for 24 hours.
The next morning, put the contents of the jar into a pan or pot and heat it on a medium to low setting. Wait for the water to start evaporating and stir once in a while. Add a pinch of salt, a shot of syrup (Peppermint, Dandelion, Maple, etc.).
Once the water is almost evaporated, turn off the heat and grind a carrot and/or and apple into the pan. Add a drop of olive oil and stir the content of the pan. Alternatively, add applesauce or fresh/frozen berries.
If you're in the mood for more flavor, puff some cinnamon and/or unsweetened cocoa powder over the mix.
Depending on how sweet you want the porridge to be, add a splotch of jelly/marmelade/jam on top of the porridge. Finish it off by topping the porridge with hemp or sesame seeds.
